ORMSBEE, JESSICA
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year!
My name is Mrs. Jessica Ormsbee, and I am so excited to introduce myself as the School Family Liaison Counselor at Old Mill Elementary School! I feel truly honored to be part of the Old Mill community and to proudly be a Bulldog.
I am passionate about helping students grow socially, emotionally, and academically. When children feel safe and connected, they are better able to learn, develop new skills, and approach challenges with confidence. My goal is to create an environment where every student feels supported, valued, and ready to thrive. Elementary school is such a foundational time in your child’s life, and I cannot wait to walk alongside them during these impactful years. My heart, ears, and door are always open—please don’t hesitate to reach out! I am looking forward to a year filled with growth, connection, and unforgettable memories.
Educational Experience
I am a proud Wall Township alumnus and continue to live locally! After graduating from Wall High School, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Special Education, and Psychology from Rider University. I then spent several years teaching and supporting students with special needs. Most recently, I obtained my Master’s in School Counseling from Capella University. You may recognize me as I spent some time at Old Mill School with Mrs. McRoberts during the 2023-2024 school year. Education has always been a passion of mine, and I am thrilled to serve students and families in this role at Old Mill.
In a world where you can be anything, be kind!
School Family Liaison Counselor Services
Each school in Wall has a full-time School Family Liaison Counselor. School counselors take on many different roles. Our duties include classroom lessons, small groups, and individual counseling, as well as consultation with parents, teachers, and administrators. We partner with school staff to assist with the development of positive behavior strategies. Additionally, we work with parents and other team members to plan and implement school-wide activities that promote a sense of belonging and community through the themes of kindness and respect. Our programming is guided by the 7 Mindsets Curriculum, where our mindsets provide the foundation for resilience, motivation, and meaning in life. Beneficial results of these interactive lessons for students can include increased self-determination and self-awareness, improved behavior, and greater confidence and engagement.
The 7 Mindsets are Everything is Possible, Passion First, We are Connected, 100% Accountable, Attitude of Gratitude, Live to Give, and The Time is Now.
When to Engage Us
School counselors work with students to address a variety of school-based needs, including academic concerns, school anxiety, personal struggles, behavioral concerns, and conflict resolution. We can also assist our families in times of hardship, as we have access to many community resources. As your counselors, we are dedicated to helping in any capacity necessary to ensure your child has the skills needed to navigate the experiences school presents. Please do not hesitate to contact me whenever you believe I can be of assistance, or with any questions and/or concerns. You can also visit the school website and locate valuable resources under the Student Wellness tab. I look forward to working with you, your most precious little ones, and your family this school year!
